Stormwater and Drainage on Hilton Head Island

County Council Member Thomas Reitz (District 11) is hosting a community meeting to discuss stormwater management and drainage in several Hilton Head Island neighborhoods and areas. The meeting will be Wednesday, September 30 at 6 p.m., at the Hilton Head Island Branch Library, 11 Beach City Rd (map).

This meeting will be an open forum to discuss and answer questions on many topics, including a community opportunity for questions and answers on stormwater-drainage issues and other local concerns. Council Member Reitz will begin the meeting by sharing an overview and short history of the work done to date.

Beaufort County staff will be present to answer questions related to the Bay Pines construction update, scheduled ditch and property maintenance, and road milling/pavement conditions. Town of Hilton Head Island staff will be present to answer questions and provide updates about town projects.

This will be Mr. Reitz's final community meeting serving District 11 as its Council representative. "We must continue to bring our local representatives, County Administrator, and staff together with our constituents to ensure we further develop the cooperation and partnerships already established" said Councilman Reitz.

"I trust that the relationships forged between local government & those we serve will be seamless, regardless of who will represent District 11 in the future. Dr. Galloway, the incoming district representative, has been invited to this meeting and I encourage anyone with a stormwater or drainage related concern to come out and let us hear your voice."
